About This Product

We have two Kenyan coffees and they taste quite different from one another. This Peaberry is roasted darker than the other, but if you're a regular customer you know that I do not "dark" roast coffees compared to what you commonly find. The fragrance in the cup is dramatic and bold, with baking spices like clove coming to the forefront. It hints at the richness in flavor which is to come. There's a beautiful sweetness present and it's on the darker side of sweeteners, like blackstrap molasses. Subtle complex fruit notes dance about, like dark plum and grape. There's great structure behind it like what you find in a Cabernet wine. This is a bold, complex, sweet Kenyan that holds up well to milk and is perfect as we head into cooler temps. That said, it's fantastic iced.

More about this coffee:
This coffee is the SL-28 varietal created in the 1930' and SL-34.  The beans are grown at high altitude with the average co-op farmer at over 5,500 feet elevation (high altitudes produce the best coffee).
